Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jimmyenez, 2 September 1966)[3][4][5]) is an American and Mexican actress. Her career started in Mexico, where she starred in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as well as the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) that brought her an Ariel Award nomination. Her career quickly took off in Hollywood by appearing in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), and Dogma (1999). Hayek's performance as Frida, the painter, in Frida (2002), which she also produced as well, resulted in Hayek the first Mexican actor to win the Academy Award [6]. It also earned her an Golden Globe Award nomination, Screen Actors Guild Award nomination, and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to produce as well as starring in action films like Once Upon a Time in Mexico later on in her career.
